Finnish Lapland Film Commission is committed to strengthening the know-how of local communities and companies about film industry’s needs. One example of this is Film Friendly training, launched in autumn 2010. Film Friendly recognition is issued to a company or a resort that has proven to be familiar with film industry.
Finnish Lapland Film Commission has created a handbook which gives tourism companies relevant information on film production and film crews’ needs. Being Film Friendly is a state of mind, and more importantly, it is as a way of doing business. Film Friendly training gives companies a boost on how to effectively deal with on-location filming and put their best foot forward in marketing their services and resources.
Companies get recognised as Film Friendly after demonstrating their familiarity with film industry by successfully passing a test and packaging their services accordingly. Film Friendly companies are dedicated to efficient, flexible and trustworthy service.
The Film Friendly concept has been developed together with Haaga-Perho (Destination Quality Net) and Helsinki-filmi.
