While many copies exist elsewhere, Finnish Lapland is the true home of the original Santa Claus. This is manifested in the Finns’ mentality when talking about Christmas; all the Finns, but especially the people of the north take pride as having the home of Santa next door. Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, is the Official Hometown of Santa Claus.

When thinking of filming Christmas, you don't need to build the set yourself from scratch. There are a number of venues around Lapland that offer ready-made sets, structures and locations providing an excellent setting for a Christmas-oriented production.
