




Fell Lapland is known for its treeless fell tops. Fells can be found from a number of locations in Lapland, but most of them situate in the Fell Lapland region. Several fells rise from the horizon, with the northern ones left to their natural state and many of the southern ones harnessed for recreational use. The highest fell is Halti, reaching 1.324 metres above the sea level.
In the list of 50 highest points in Finland, 47 of them can be found in the area of Fell Lapland. As a natural result, many popular ski resorts, such as Levi, Olos, Pallas, and Ylläs are located in the region. Along with various ski resorts, Fell Lapland offers accommodation capacity of over 50.000 beds.
The airport of Kittilä (EFKT), as well as other Lappish airports, is operational throughout the year. Flight time from Helsinki to Kittilä is 1 hour 25 minutes. The airport of Enontekiö (EFET) is located in Fell Lapland too, flight time from Helsinki to Enontekiö is 2 hours 15 minutes.
