Filming in Lapland

Finnish Lapland has many assets as a shooting location. Snow you already know, but have you thought about silence yet? In many locations there is no ambient noise at all to be removed in post-production, thus further reducing the production costs.

Another big thing affecting productions is the length of day during summer. Daylight is available 24/7 making it possible to get lots of material done in a short period of time.

Easy Filming

The Lappish people have an open mind towards filming. As an industry, it has not yet become something that the locals want to make money out of, thus the costs of filming can be kept at a reasonable level.

For instance, under the "Everyman's Right" Act, filming licences are mostly not required as everyone is allowed to roam on public and privately owned land as long as one does no harm to the environment. Safe & Appealing

Finland is one of the most uncorrupted countries in the world and Lappish people are known for their integrity and ambition on doing a good job and keeping their word.

In addition to being safe and cost-effective, Lapland is something that everyone wants to see (at least) once in a lifetime, making it a reason of it's own to bring the production here.
